From an email:
I can report some success! I have now been able to run the
informer.lisp and listener.lisp examples (I edited the scope for the
informer to match the scope in the listener) and got this output:

I had to create an rsb.conf file in the directory from which I ran
sbcl because otherwise I got an error. This is probably a bug.

cl-rsb uses a modified version of alexandria. This error was probably caused by using vanilla alexandria.
