Description

We tried to record video data in 640x480 format with a resonable framerate from the new NAO heads. While bag-record seems to work, the combination of bag-play and (a minimally changed version of the RSBVideoReceiver where we set the queue to size 1), leads to a deadlock where neither the receiver nor the sender continue to work.

If we only use bag-play it seems to replay the data fine, but once the video receiver is started, the system hangs.

Interestingly, not a single video image is displayed by the receiver after startup.

The file we used is available here:
/vol/nao/scratch/vision-nao-atom.tide

This report is based on the trunk version of all components.

Additional observations:
  • The erroneous behavior described above seems to depend on rather obscure conditions since we couldn't reproduce it later
  • The problem seems to be related to Spread since
    • the daemon becomes completely unusable after this situation occurs
    • affected Spread client programs do not respond to SIGINT which is typical behavior for some Spread functions

#2 Updated by J. Moringen over 12 years ago

  • Status changed from New to Rejected

I'm rejecting this bug since the issue is most likely not related to rsbag and not reproducible anymore.
