Error message is:
W: Failed to fetch http://packages.cor-lab.de/ubuntu/dists/lucid/testing/binary-i386/./rsb-tools-cl0.6-0.6.0_lucid_i686.deb Size mismatch
Environment: Ubuntu-Lucid
Is there any apparent reason for this?

I have seen updates fail sometimes and suspected that this happens when the server is in the process of updating the repository. Re-downloading the package information always solved the problem for me. However, if the problem persists, it is probably something else.

Downloading and installing manually (via dpkg --install PACKAGE.deb) works. I suspect the package index of the repository got messed up somehow.

I just notices that http://packages.cor-lab.org/ubuntu/dists/lucid/testing/binary-i386/Packages contains at least some obsolete information. For example:

This package file had been created accidentally some time ago but, apparently, did not get purged from the package index.

Moreover, there is actually a mismatch in file sizes:

Due to a version incompatibility of my update files the update process crashed after copying all new files into the repository.
For this reason the Packages and Content files never updated since 6/1/2012.
