Looks like we're getting close. What about using only implementation-specific issues so that we can close this overall issue which is quite old now?

While the general goal remains, it has mostly been achieved by now, in particular for the Spread transport.

This issue has outlived its usefulness, I think. We can track new or remaining sub-goals related to this general topic in separate, more specific issues, as Johannes suggested.
